The Chad and I are very transparent parents; we want to ensure our children are well educated about adult topics and life experiences, even at a young age. As children, many of us, including The Chad and I, were not taught about credit, handling money, or finances. I learned by proxy with my father as the banker, my mother broke her arm when I was a teen so I was left to write her checks, balance her checkbook, manage the household finances and do the grocery shopping. Not all children have that experience. With our children we wanted to explain to them the importance of proper budgeting, living within your means, and the ever heavy burden of credit debt. DesignEvo – Create Logos for Free
My dear friend Joie and I have been working together for the last four years. She and I have known one another for the last decade, and this past year we thought high time we created something of a logo for our collaboration. We have been juggling ideas of outsourcing a logo with services like Fiverr. We even contemplated free logos by doing it ourselves in applications like Paint or GIMP. Each time, we were just missing something that made it a truly professional logo, we were in need of a free logo creation application.
One day we happened to receive an email from a representative sharing about an online application for logos. The free logos application allows you to create a logo with thousands of design templates, various fonts and some cool icons. Continue reading “DesignEvo – Create Logos for Free”
e Parenting
Having children and raising children is such an evolutionary, day-by-day event. I always think of the quote by Mike Tyson in relation to having children; “everyone has a plan until they’re punched in the face.” Think about it. We all have some set of ideals on how we should parent or raise children. Telling ourselves with our spouses, “I will raise my kids like this,””I will not raise my kids the way my parents did,” so on and so forth. Then life really throws you a curve ball of reality which causes your axis to shift from what you planned, to what do you plan to do now. Continue reading “e Parenting”
The Crayola Experience Orlando
Moving to Orlando has been such a treat! Not that we did not have an abundance of awesome visits, trips, and experiences living in Arizona the past 14 years, but Florida has so much to offer our family. The twins celebrate a decade of life this year and we have bounced around ideas of what to do for their birthday besides the obvious of Disney. My dear daughter has been begging for The Crayola Experience here in Orlando. Continue reading “The Crayola Experience Orlando”
My Open Letter to be Better
Driving home the other day from the gym I saw a care center bus that said “Kids-R-Kids” and couldn’t help to feel a bit perturbed. What was troublesome is that we often discount children’s behaviors as “just being kids” without needed corrective action. Sometimes these behaviors can be shrugged off, while others need extraordinary attention. Continue reading “My Open Letter to be Better”
Celebrate the Holidays with Eagle Brand Milk
Have you been on Facebook and those wonderful memories pop up to show you years past? I love those because I can see when my kids were just a wee bit younger and all the heartwarming activities we shared. Now they are tweens and a teen so I rarely see them anymore as they are out and about. This year my dear daughter wanted to definitely partake in the holiday baking. I was so pumped to share the magic of holiday baking with her. We were excited to celebrate the holidays with Eagle Brand Milk as the main ingredient in all these sweet treats.
