The other day while perusing Facebook a friend of mine had shared a great video for an awesome recipe for guacamole. An easy and awesome recipe for guacamole, literally five ingredients or less. I could not resist having this recipe, making said recipe and sharing with my family. Then exploiting the awesomeness with each of you. I digress. This recipe was like no other and looked exceptionally tasty and did not require roasting hot peppers and hours or dicing and mashing.
Behold the awesomeness of “You Suck at Cooking” and his amazing guacamole recipe.
I love the satire and I love the simplicity of this recipe. With all that being said I had to be different with this recipe and added the “bullshit” of garlic and a few other choice seasonings. With the extra seasonings, admittedly this was the best guacamole I have ever had, which says a lot. With extensive travels to Mexico in my lifetime and having had guacamole made fresh, table-side at infamous Mexican and New Mexican restaurants, stateside and in Mexico, this was THE best. If I do say so myself. I hope you enjoy this guacamole recipe as much as I have.
- 2 green onions, finely chopped and diced
- 5 sprigs of cilantro
- Hot banana peppers (jarred) about 10 or so, or to taste if you like a bit more spice
- Pink Himalayan salt, or sea salt works great too
- Bragg Organic 24 herb seasoning
- Lemon/lime juice
- 2 avocados, pitted, diced and chopped in bowl
Chop and dice your onions, cilantro, and peppers and toss in a bowl. Add the avocados and the Bragg seasoning. Mix until you reach your desired consistency. Squirt with lemon/lime juice, dust with salt to taste, mix some more and voila! Ready to serve. I do recommend chilling this for the ultimate in flavor. No muss, no fuss. This guacamole has the right amount of flavor and spice. Enjoy with chips or topped on eggs – like this turkey, egg, cupcake breakfast bite.
I;ve never used jarred banana peppers–that’s really different. Also never used the Bragg seasoning. I love guacamole and I’ll be trying this variation! Thanks!
