Five for Fighting AUTOGRAPHED CD Giveaway

If every album provides snapshots of where an artist’s mind at heart is at the moment, Slice, the latest offering from John Ondrasik (aka Five for Fighting), is a collection of digital jpegs and faded Polaroids. The album takes stories of friends, family and even American servicemen, and sets them to music shot through with the spirit of the great songs of his youth. It’s a diary, or a blog, in which Ondrasik speaks his mind about current issues, experiences and sentiments, while setting those thoughts to piano, bass and drums. [Source: One2OneNetwork]

If you loved Superman you will love this album (in my opinion of course). If you really liked 100 Years, you will REALLY like this album (again, in my opinion). Some albums are made where you like only a handful of songs, they resonate with you because of a time in your life, an event, some meaning is hidden in the words that shoots through your emotions. Five for Fighting has created an album (again in my opinion) that each song represents an event in our country, our lives, our emotions are touched. Some songs on the album make you want to get up and dance, cry, laugh at a memory, or just smirk. Here are the fabulous tracks to this new album:

1. Slice
2. Note To The Unknown Soldier
3. Tuesday
4. Chances
5. This Dance
6. Above The Timberline
7. Transfer
8. Hope
9. Story Of Your Life
10. Love Can’t Change The Weather
11. Augie Nieto

  1. Music is definitely a huge part of my life. Going through my iTunes is like a audio scrapbook of my life. "Oh! Remember when we listened to this song on the band bus?" "Aw, this song always reminds me of so and so!" "OMG, I always cry when I hear this…it reminds me of home." It actually evokes so much emotion sometimes it's painful. When I had my really nasty breakup last year, I couldn't listen to ANYTHING that I had "found" in the last two years. I would just cry and cry and cry. I'm happy to report I've (mostly) passed that and can enjoy some of my favorite tune again.

  2. Music is the world's heartbeat. No matter the language, music speaks to you. I discover new music regularly and post my find on my main website "Discover New Music". http://www.GoAskKatie.com please stop by. Thank you for posting a comment on my blog 🙂
    Wishing you happiness, Katherine

  3. Music has always been a slice in my life. I started playing the piano when I was 5 and the flute when I was eight. I just play for fun now but I can never be in my car without having the radio on.

  4. My best memories are all tied to a particular song just like a soundtrack – when I hear a song now, it can take me back to the associated memory

  5. Music is a slice in my life, my husband is a musician. Also I have to have music playing all day while I'm working. It calms me when I'm stressed, energizes me when I'm fatiqued, cheers me when I'm sad.

  6. I can't get through the day without a little slice of music in there somewhere. I always clean with my iPod in my back pocket. I'd love to have this cd to put on it!

  7. Music has always been a "slice" in my thirty-something years. Especially when earier this year my father almost died from a serious staph infection while in the hospital due to a health related illness. I turned to lot's of christian contemperary music. The uplifting music helped me not lose my faith and believe in the power of prayer. It was one of the most difficult times in my life.

  8. Music is a slice of mine and the girls night. We listen throughout the day but at night we come in by the computer and play music and dance like crazy girls for about 1/2 an hour. I would LOVE this cd btw!!

  9. Music is a huge part of my life and I try to make it a big part of my toddlers' lives. I would love to win this because it would be nice to listen to some grownup music for a change.

  10. Music has been very important in my life. I was in the band in High School and being in the band defines my High School career. Both my sons are guitar players and love music, so I have passed along the love of music to my kids.

  11. Music has always been an important "slice" of my life. I grew up playing the piano and singing in choirs. My daughter plays piano and cello, and my son plays sax. I spend quite a bit of time at concerts, etc. Love Five for Fighting also and would love to win this CD. Thanks so much! pamelashockley(AT)netscape(DOT)net

  12. I don't think I could live without music. I spend a good amount of time with it, including singing in a choral society, sometimes singing in musicals on stage, listening to it in the car…and encouraging my daughter to keep feeding her talent in music. Thanks!

  13. Music is an essential part of my day, from my alarm clock, to the Wiggles we watch while gettng dressed in the morning (I have a toddler!), the car radio on the way to work, to the silly songs we sing on the drive home, and lullabies at night… I alo often use Pandora or play my ipod during the workday – music is necessary!

  14. Music has been a big part of my life. As a child my family always had music playing either on the radio or stereo. Yes, I grew up in the LP days.
I always have music playing now. There is always a song that will match my mood or a song that will make the day go better.
